BWG Foodservice anticipates a revenue increase to €250 million by 2025, bolstered by strong sales momentum and the award of National Foodservice Supplier of the Year. The company also addresses sector challenges while launching a new ethical product line in response to changing consumer preferences.

BWG Foodservice is anticipating a significant increase in sales, projecting that revenues will reach €250 million by 2025. This ambitious forecast comes in conjunction with the company being awarded the title of National Foodservice Supplier of the Year for the second consecutive year at the Catex 2025 Hospitality Exhibition, held at the RDS this week.

In 2024, BWG Foods recorded sales of €219 million, reflecting an 8% growth compared to the previous year. This upward trend emerges despite ongoing challenges facing the food and hospitality sectors. The company has experienced notable growth in customer acquisitions, with a double-digit percentage increase in client numbers and the establishment of several key supply contracts that have broadened its nationwide reach.

The company’s notable sales growth trajectory has been striking, doubling from €126 million in 2021. The current pipeline of projects suggests that BWG Foodservice is well-positioned to meet its €250 million sales target in 2025.

The foodservice director at BWG Foods, Ricky O’Brien, highlighted the firm’s focus on enhancing customer competitiveness through quality food solutions. He stated, “We continue to see very strong momentum across our nationwide foodservice business, driven primarily by our focus on delivering food solutions that enhance the competitiveness of our customers, both in terms of quality and value.”

O’Brien also acknowledged the various challenges confronting the food and hospitality industry, which has seen numerous business closures in recent times. He noted, “The sector has faced a multitude of pressures threatening the viability of many of its businesses; however, we remain hopeful that the government will act sooner than anticipated in relation to its VAT reduction commitment as this will have a positive impact in supporting the sector, which plays a critical role in the economic and social fabric of this country.”

In response to evolving trends within the food sector, particularly a shift towards healthier eating, BWG Foodservice has launched a new line of Açai products through a partnership with Sambazon. All offerings are ethically sourced, hand-harvested by local farmers, and certified as organic and Fair Trade.

The developments at BWG Foodservice underscore a significant expansion and diversification within the company, occurring alongside broader industry trends and challenges.
